Sermon Series – So Others May Live

So Others May Live is a sermon series inspired by the motto of the Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers…. who risk life and health to bring drowning people to safety.

This series is designed to motivate and equip your congregation for evangelism, by presenting them the NEED for sharing their faith, and useful tips and methods to be a LIGHT in their communities.

SERMON  CONCEPTS: The world is full of people drowning in the storms of live and being taken down below without the Lord. God has rescued us and given the mission of rescuing others. But to effectively execute this mission we must understand a few things which we will be addressing one each week.

Suggested Sermon Titles, Key Ideas, and Themes:

1. You must prepare and take your job seriously, give it your all.

There is group preparation and there is personal dedication and prep. Church is not your relationship with God. It’s a place/gathering where you get updated, debriefed, instructed, trained, and equipped to raise your skill level for the mission, but you have a personal responsibility to daily maintain your health and skills on your own and as a team.

2. You must not try to do it alone.

3. You must stay in contact with Commander/guy with the big picture view.

4 You understand you cannot save all. You will have to accept that some will drown. You cannot fight someone to rescue them. You can only do that for so long before they drown you. You must do what you can, even go above what’s expected, but then let go. We’re not called to cram the faith down peoples throats.
